I've just been informed the car wasn't driven very much, 045550 is probably correct. This thing could be a real beauty with the right touch.

Jerry- PM sent

Kevin- Should I know who Frank Cannon is? Is that someone who buys old cars?

Mofoot- I actually did the carb work about 2 weeks before that class in Greg's garage, which was good, because it showed me how different carb models are, but also I knew coming in that it wasn't the worst thing in the world. I did enjoy the class though, particularly Tim demanding Zack's drink because he had something else in his had,

And for all interested, the mileage is either 045550, 145550, or 245550, but there are only 5 digits on the odometer, so it says 45550 and I'm in the process of trying to figure out which.

When I was a senior in high school, my dad owned that car's cousin, a 1973 T-bird. Pretty much identical to the one in this picture. You could land an F-18 on the hood of that thing. Great car for dating/drive-in movies.

These days there is a forum and fan base for most older cars. I would type in Lincoln Forum and see what pops.   Looks great in your pictures!

Wow, memories. My best friend, when we were young and dumb and full of fun in our 20’s (2000’s) essentially inherited a barn find 1979, maybe 1976 Lincoln Continental that sat since 1983. If we didn’t take it, it would’ve gone to scrap. Looks identical to this one but gold metallic paint, gold fabric top and gold tint with t-tops. Factory 460 with new 750 Holley and C6 and evidently a hot cam. This thing had to be the ugliest biggest but baddest coupe ever built. Didn’t take much to make it run, and it ran like a scalded dog amped on cocaine. Did some horse trading and got some hood looking 22” rims for it. This was a real Hoop D, kinda resembled the time machine from Austin Powers 3. .This boat was running the 1/4 in probably 15 and weighing easy 5500lbs.

Those are ugly by today’s standards but was a great sleeper project and kept us out trouble.

Hey everyone,
lately I've been coming here for more non-boat advice than the other way around, and here I go again. I have come into contact with a pretty cool old car and have offered to find out more info or help sell for a friend. Problem is, I have no idea how to identify the market for such a vehicle, and as far as I know there's not a "InterestingOldCarFan.com" that I can go to. So, anybody who has any ideas or may be involved with a group or website that handles things like this, let me know. My friend want to sell it and feels like it has some value, but I can't say, that's worth $X and you can sell it this way.

Its a 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. Car runs, but not well. I rebuilt the carb a few months ago (which is scary enough in itself) and it cranks and drives, but I've never moved it out of the driveway. Both windows were busted out years ago, I have new windows but have not installed them. Somewhere in its past someone duck taped a tarp over those windows, so there is some tape residue on the paint in a few places. Other than that the exterior is in pretty good shape, the interior is pretty nice. Is it showroom shiny? No, but its not a rotten bucket of parts either.

Here's a picture, the thing is a beast. It a "coupe" that is 1 inch shorter and 1 lb less than my extended cab Silverado...crazy.

What do you guys think? She doesn't want to scrap it, but wants it gone and would like to get whatever money out of it is possible.

Anybody looking for a zippy runaround?
