Agreed. Today I ended up changing the tranny fluid, installed new belts, new plugs, fuel filter, and raw water impeller (even though none of these were ready to be replaced yet). This is in addition to the oil change, rudder lube, cleaning (and in some areas replacing) upholstery, etc. that I had done in anticipation of selling it. This way whoever buys it can immediately take it out and enjoy it the whole summer without having to stop and do maintenance. |

I think 100 hrs is recommended. It only takes 2 qts, & 1/2 hour with a vacuum pump. It would make a nice perk for your buyer.

Folks, what's the recommended fluid change frequency for a Model 80 (model 40 replacement) that uses Dextron? It looks like the manual says annual, but how many hours? I've got about 75 hours on the new Model 80 tranny; a little over a year. I'm selling the boat and the person interested is not handy, so I'm wondering if I should change it for them now. I thought the normal frequency was 200hrs.
Thanks, |
