I wired in a simple starting solenoid that connected them when the engine is running and separates them when it is off. Boat on, they charge. Boat off, no draw on starting batter. Set it and forget it :)

I have two hooked together, Pos to pos, neg to neg. Plenty of reserve power when I crank up the tunes.

Searched around and didn't see any newer threads (post 2007) on here for this modification.
Looking to add a second battery for reassurance. I've seen multiple ways of people connecting the batteries on other boats, some grounding from engine block, some running a ground between the batteries. Curious to see what other Correct Craft 2001 boat owners have done. Thanks in advance! Cory |
