So where are we with this story... you bought one or both of these boats?
I sent a note letting the owner know that I took a cursory look, which he had agreed to., and that I’d make an offer after I can fully inspect each boat. Haven’t heard back. I’ll give it another week and see where it goes. I was thinking he might get motivated to get right back to me when I explained how fast the boats are going to continue to deteriorate in the salt. But the super wealthy are not always super smart. And he may think those boats are completely immune to the evils of the salt environment given their shrink wrap status and “professional winterization”, and likely thinks I’m an idiot for suggesting otherwise:-) Stay tuned.... |

Go to Kelly Blue Book.com to get a good idea. The 67 might not be in the KBB book. This is where I got my price to buy Gary's prized SS Mustang Correct Craft. |

Yeah, I've been looking at either buying a 2000 Toyota Camry or a 67 ford mustang I saw in someguys yard sitting on blocks... neither owner is advertising them... but I wanna go in there with an offer... thoughts?

Wow, I’m thinking 6k for the SS and 1500 bucks for the Mustang. Sitting in the weeds and shrink wrapped for sometime in a salt environment provides a heavy discount! Anything that moves is going to be frozen due to corrosion, if not already. Hardware and such is showing plenty of pitting on the CC. If the seller says no I’ll hit him again next year...my experience with excessively wealthy, absentee owners with boats sitting unused and not advertised, is they let their boats rot in place...I’m willing to let him do it unless I get my number... |

Pictures are a major PITA. I don’t even bother now. Mustang vs Ski Supreme is really not much of a comparison because they’re different animals. I’d choose Supreme hands down for skiing. Mustang wins out by miles on the cool factor.

Early to say until/unless more info/pictures are available. Mustang, if decent to great, maybe 4 - 6000. A project, less. The supreme, hard to say since we dont really follow that market. Nautiques seem to hold their value more than the competitors. So a decent 97 Nautique these days might bring 13, 14 ish, so the supreme maybe 10 ish. if in godd condition, single digits if just ok condition.

‘97 Ski Supreme?? Pretty certain that’s a composite boat. Thought they switched to composite in mid 80’s.

I have come across two boats.....’97 Ski Supreme and a ‘67 Mustang. The latter appears all original and in good shape, fully intact, etc...Owner reports the mustang has the 289 engine. Both boats sitting on trailers. Haven’t had time to inspect, but assuming stingers need done on the CC. Jury out on the SS, but still wood that year according to some posts
Still waiting for more info...how long sitting, etc..... |
