   I like to smear a thin coating of dielectric grease on the base of the bulb and contacts to prevent oxidation compromising the electrical contact.  Before I started doing this, I would find that my stern light (anchor light?) would often not work until I removed and re-installed the bulb to sort of clean the contacts.  After having used dielectric grease the problem has never returned.  Just make sure you keep the grease of the glass.

	I believe it's a 1004. look at the bottom of the socket and there should be two contacts and on the sides there should be two notches inline or at the same depth. or It might be a 1003 the only difference is the the little post sticking off of the side of the bulb's base will be in alignment or staggered you can check the rear light and it will be the same bulb.

	I have a 1998 Ski Nautique, and went to use my lights and the front one doesn't work. I opened it up and there is no bulb in it. What kind of bulb do you use? Thank x
