You will love the 206 for skiing. I highly recommend the 206 after seeing Steve's 6 liter and Greg Fossett's boats. I am not sure about pricing, it has been three years now since I was in the market, but $30 K is about what they were running three years ago. You will find, in most cases, the dealers are always high due to overhead and the need to make a profit. If you trade with them, you will likely be getting a less than desirable price for you boat.

For me, it came down to condition, condition, and Condition. I ended up with a 2002 Sport Nautique and have been happy with my choice. The 206 has a better ski wake than the Sport. However, my wake works great for my family. I was also told, get a boat that has everything you want on it. Instead of having to add the items later ( Tower, Bimini, Cover, Perfect pass, etc). I did the opposite and purchase my boat based on condition and had to add the other items. For me, I got the exact boat that I wanted at the end of the day ( One year).

For $30 K, you can likely move up a few years newer in a 2006. Get drive by wire, Zero Off Speed Control is you can. If you are spending $30K.

This site feels that any boat over $3K is too much money.

+1. Seen 2007s shy of 30k with a lot less hours.

30K is a lot of money for a used boat.

What does this one do, that a $15K boat doesn't?

There is a beautiful Ski 206 (no tower) on Lake Norman, NC. I doubt it's $30,000... but I am not in the used 206 market. Very meticulous owner and nice guy. PM me if interested.

I am partial to the ZR 6 liter engine............

I see you survived the hurricane.

If you get an 05 you won't have to screw around with vacuum advance distributors

I have a 1986 2001 Nautique. 351. Love the boat. Used mainly for skiing.
My dealer is pushing me to buy a 2005 Nautique 206 with a Excalibur 330 engine. With 641 hours.
Looking for everyones thoughts on this possible purchase. Dealer is asking $30K with trailer.
