Sound good. I have heard of Fram gaskets twisting off the canister if you don't lub them.

Was told to 1/2 fill the new cartridge with gas in order to prime it.
Which is what I did.

I will do that when I get home! Trying to accomplish something I want to do on the road!
I have never had a boat with this type of filter, any guidance to reinstalling it like “oil the threads” or other tips?

Thanks!

Otto

Try one of these in the link

link

or one of these

and you should have nothing to worry about.

It would be nice if you posted how long yours is when you're looking for some help

I am trying to find a replacement FUEL/WATER Filter for my 1999 285 HP Carberated PCM engine. What is on it now is a Merc 35-60494-1A. I have searched for that filter and I can’t find that exact filter. Internet search has turned up some options but they all look shorter than what I have installed in there now?! From the forums I have learned you have worry about flow rates. So, that being said can anyone recommend a premium replacement for that filter number, and do I have to worry about 10 micron vs. 25 micron filtration?

Thanks!!!!
Otto
