+1 for the redundant ground. Truth be told the redundant ground will probably fail same time as the bolted trailer ground but it makes trouble shooting 10x easier to have a reference point.
Another alternative to the pvc pipe is to use the smallest CPVC line (guessing 5/8 OD vs 7/8). That much smaller in this case will be more aesthetically pleasing. |

Thanks, Pete. I'll put this all in my notes.
Leftseat88, I got an LED kit from etrailer. I'm out of town right now so I can't speak for it's quality, but the price wasn't bad. I'll check it out when I get home in a few weeks. |

Thank you, sir.
Restoring my trailer this summer while my boat is in a slip. Now I just need to source some tread plate locally. |

Jarret, I used routing clamps: ![]() I found aluminum versions of the one hole at my local electric supply. |

How did you attach the conduit to the trailer? Screw into the inside of the channel and a clamp? |

Jason,
I've done several trailers but never used the wiring kits. The kits aren't bad but wiring has always been problematic on trailers so I "upgraded". If you do get a kit, never use the "scotch lock" insulation displacing connections that typically come with them. They actually cut the insulation allowing moisture to enter the wire and corrode. The trailers I did were not box framed so I ran conduit to hold and protect the wiring leaving minimal wire exposure at connections. I upgraded to marine grade wire for the added corrosion protection. I also suggest using adhesive lined heat shrink crimp connectors or soldering and adhesive lined heat shrink tubing at connections. Then to eliminate grounding problems with using the trailer frame, I ran ground wires to all lights. |

Just restored my 89 SN trailer. Bought all the parts (including wiring and lights) from Amazon except for the trailer coupler which I bought from etrailer.com.

Howdy All,
Has anyone re-wired their trailer recently? If so, which supplier did you use? I assume there is a internet store out there. Thanks |
