When you turn the ignition key, but before the engine cranks, you should hear the fuel pumps charge up: a ticking mechanical sound for 2-3 seconds then it should stop. This charges up the fuel system.
If you don't hear this sound your fuel pumps are not getting power. Check the relay first, then connections to the fuel pump. Pull apart the connections and reconnect with dialectric grease. If you are getting the fuel pumps operating, then you have eleiminated this possible cause. |

Start with the obvious connections at the battery and then the relays. After that, type in "gt40" in the quick search box located at the top of the web page and you will find loads of information on how to trouble shoot.

My friends correct craft 96 Ford EFI pro boss will not start after 5 weeks without waterskiing. The motor cranks, but everything else seems to be "dead". I have downloaded the ford gt 40 EFI manual in this forum.
I can see that there are many things that can be wrong...and I dont have any diagnostic tools. In Denmark we have saltwater everywhere so it could be moisture in the parts or just bad connections in relays ect. Where do I start ? jens chr nielsen Copenhagen Denmark |
