You could just drill a hole, then probe down with a wood dowell to see if the foam is saturated. Plug the hole if there is no moisture found.

Thanks for the thread. Lots of good pics and info. What a rebuild! My fn is an 88 model which is very different deck wise. Just trying to figure out how it is configured under the deck without ripping it all up. I have heard all fish nautiques were prone to water saturation in the foam but have also heard they started putting in closed cell foam toward the end. I've considered cutting the bottom of my fish box out to get a better look but wanted to reach out here for input before going there.

The 17 page thread with a good number of pictures in the link may answer your questions

I was curious if there are stringers forward of the live well that may be encapsulated in the foam under the fish box or are the stringers under the motor the only ones. Also the air cowlings on the bow have been glassed over. Is the air flow they provided necessary or were they just for ventilation?

Steve,
What are the questions? We do have several FN owners on the site but also many other knowledgeable members.

Is there a fish nautique expert on this forum. I have a few questions about my 1988 fn.
