Lots of folks here use a "T" that has been mounted in the raw water line, usually before the raw water strainer.  The "T" has a female fitting to accept the male end of a garden hose.  No more fake-a-lake.  Another option is the Perko Flush Pro

Kevin,
Here's a thread on the "Timmy T".

It has some links in it so read up on it. The key feature is it is an open system so it will not pressurize the cooling system masking cooling system problems. So, ignor the double valving or the three ways some have used that will pressurize the system from the pressure in the garden hose.

I own two fake lakes, I have not touched them since installing the TimmyT,  TRBenj gave us tips for installing a cooling system connection that hooks up to your garden hose quickly and does this job much better than a fake lake.   Do a search for a TimmyT on this forum, a quick trip to your hardware store and $20 and you will be happy.

You guys lke any fake lake in particular?    I've been using the 5 gallon bucket option for a while now, but i's tough to keep it running, keep water in the bucket and do what you need to do alone.   I figure a fake lake will free up one hand at least.

Have a good Sunday.
