To close out the thread, this is the fix and the boat is running well on the hose.

Decided to order a new distributor after cleaning up the distributor shaft with a wire brush had no impact on no-start/spark condition.
I believe i have the correct procedure to replace the distributor and set the timing below, but if anyone can point out anything i missed, it would be much appreciated. -Get #1 to TDC with rotor pointing at #1 post on distributor -Mark orientation of distributor body and orientation of rotor -Loosen retention bolt on distributor and remove distributor -Insert new distributor with body and rotor orientation matching previous marks -Intall cap -Start engine -Insert jumper wire/paperclip between A & B terminals on 10 pin diagnostic plug -Clip timing light wire to #1 plug wire with arrow towards plug -Set advance dial on timing light to 10 -Rotate distributor to get timing mark to line up with notch on the block -Tighten distributor retaining bolt -Remove jumper wire/paperclip -Go skiing Thanks, Connor

Ran into a bit of a problem getting the rotor off and dented the copper ring underneath it slightly. No start when everything is put back together.
Any advice on best place to start from here? Have a digital multi-meter, just need some guidance on where to check. |
