Those " standard oem pcm gt40’s " are not really PCM's but the ones used on  93-95 Ford F 150 SVT Lightning's and 93-95 SVT Mustang Cobra. They are sought after since they and the P's are the best production heads Ford made. They have the advantage of being able to be used with any exhaust where as the P's need special ones to clear the different plug angle.

The P heads never came from PCM as standard on any marine Ford engine.

You do say the engine had been overhauled twice before it was passed on to you, in your restoration thread, so who knows. Wink

Car guys  hate the P's because of the spark plug angle, boat guys luv em because of the same spark plug angle.

Not a lot of performance difference between them.

I had no idea that was the case. Thanks for the explanation. Looks like mine at standard oem pcm gt40’s. Not p’s. Good to know.

Here's a picture of one of your heads from the restoration thread.

Not the best contrast, but the angle looks like gt40

The easiest thing to do is look at the end of the heads and if there are 4 bars, they're gt40P.

3 bars are gt40

I’ve got a pair for sale if you are still looking for some. Already boxed up and ready to ship. Came off my gt40 during the overhaul. Engine ran great prior to rebuild. Although, considering these heads are 22 years old, I would recommend freshening them up before you install.
