 it wasn't falling on its face yet, amazingly.  i just have the tank out now for new exhaust hoses, and determined while its out, took the outlet apart to clean this.
Seems an occasional pine needle fragment once a month for 36 years starts to add up to real schmutz

Of course the anti siphon valve is clean, when there's a screen upstream of it to catch all the junk.

Probably a 36 year collection of junk Wink

Same 454 that had wyrz issues a week or so ago?

Had you been running Amzoil synthetic in your engine, that inlet screen would not have gunked-up like that.  

Do you run your boat near Area 51 by chance?

The inlet screen that is responsible for many hard-to-diagnose high speed fuel starvation issues, often blamed on aliens or 'vapor lock' , check valve looked clean, naturally.
this time on an 85 SN.
but, bigfoot exists
