Jack, that is what it was when you picked it up.

Very cool.
I also like the idea of a Y-block. In-period. Can be built reliably. Has many aluminum components for light weight (Bellhousing/intake/oil pan/exhaust manifolds, etc) back that up with a PCM 40a aluminum trans for a sensible package.

A is for Atom Skier.  We owned A420 for a brief time.  The plate was attached to the reinforcement panel on the motor box that the hinge screws into.

Our engine was an Interceptor 256 Y Block, A1R2.  Someone should know what T52 refers to.

Hello Phil,
Many thanks as this is what the community is all about.  No one seems to know, but you may be correct, as the gentleman I bought it from remembers it being a Buick, but then again, he bought it from another person that removed the engine.  The only nameplate I could find is below:
I guess my big question is what do I put back in it?  Where do I find a replacement (can be modern, I am not tied to historical restorations)?  Does the new engine has to be CCW?  I may ask you for more inofmration, but many thanks.  Paul

Hi Paul,

My guess is it's an Atom Skier.  Is there a tag nailed to the port side stringer near where the motor would be mounted?

Here's a link to a '63 listed on boats-from-usa (with a Ford V8):
https://boats-from-usa.com/correct-craft/correct-craft-atom-skier-139801

If your boat was a 63, it might have had a Universal V6 (Buick), but that motor would not go back to 1960.
Here's a link from this site: https://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5003&title=buick-universal-sabre-super-sabre

Most of the Buick V6 powered boats I've seen have the Port side helm (like yours) due to them having CCW rotation.

-Phil

Thanks, the dimensions are 15 ft 9 in. and width is 5 ft. 6 in. in the middle and 5 ft. 10 in. with the flanges near the front bench.
It has dual exhaust ports and I was told the engine was a Buick, but I know nothing else, including where to find a serial number

I Have a A running PCM 305 chevy pull out  coming in three weeks from now. Repowering a 216 with a new 6 liter and transmission.
Also have a LT-1 I am pulling out of a MasterCraft. Runs great though it has an external waterjacket crack in the block.
I can get info and photos.

What is the overall length and beam? A few more pics showing the stern and sides would help with the ID.

My initial thoughts are to find a donor boat with running engine, trans, throttle and shift controls.

Perhaps something from the late 70s or 80s with a 302 or 351 Ford could be made to look at home in an old classic, yet have some safety updates for fuel pump, carb, and ignition, and ability to find parts.

Hello future friends,
I have just acquired a 1960 Correct Craft (not sure of the model) without engine, transmission, prop shaft or prop.  I would like to power the boat with a modern crate engine if possible.  This is a major work in progress and I will need all the advice I can get!
I also do not know where to find the serial number.  Thanks, Paul Newton, MA
