Is your rudder centered right now with the wheel upside down (equal number of turns of the wheel from center to full left and center to full right
If it is and you change the adjustment at the tube in the rear, it won't have equal throw on both sides Adjustment at the tube is for equalizing rudder throw. You have to change the positioning of the cable inside the helm. Being a 90, it came with rotary steering originally, so you have to pull the cable from the helm and thread it in starting from a different wheel position than the wheel was in as the cable came out. Since you're 180 degrees off, I'd probably turn the wheel 1/2 turn i either direction and then thread the cable back in It's kinda hard to explain, but there's most likely gonna be some trial and error on your part (maybe numerous times removing the cable from the helm and reinserting it) to have the wheel centered with the rudder pointed straight and equal throw in both directions. I suppose another choice would be to have whoever changed the cable straighten things out for you, but that might be more trouble than doing it yourself. ![]() PS...........your old posts say that you have a 91 SN

You can adjust the cable in the stern of the boat where it attaches to the ball/socket and rudder horn. It will become clear what you need to do when you examine the "business end" of the cable.

I have just had the steering cable replaced on my 1990 Ski Nautique. When I picked it up, I didn't notice that the steering wheel was upside down. I tried removing the cover and removed the bolt. I had to use a gear puller to get the steering wheel to release, thinking that all I would have to do is turn the steering wheel the correct position on the splined shaft. When I got it off, I realized that the shaft was not splined, it had a pin in only one location.
Any suggestions on what can be done to move it to the correct position? Thanks, Mike
