My tools are all over the place, it's a disgrace. So I use whatever I can find at the moment. Sad

5/16 and 8 mm are about as close as you can get size wise. 5/16 equals .3125 inches 8 mm equals .3149 inches so .0024 inches difference You can fit an 8 mm allen wrench into the socket head that's made for a 5/16 allen wrench, but why not just use the 5/16 Kinda like your 6 mm allen wrench that you used on the Ford bolt made for a 1/4 inch wrench. A little sloppy but it worked |

But, but ,but .......he has a Chevy and what worked on your Ford will be a pretty sloppy, loose fit on his bolts.
They're bigger diameter, 3/8-16 threads and they take a 5/16 allen wrench |

Couldn't get a hex socket on it, height issue, and didn't have any L shaped ones with me. So want to make sure I have correct L key when I head to cottage this weekend.
Is it a 5/16ths or metric? Thanks George '99 Pro Air with the Apex |
