Great weekend on the Delta (HOT!). Boat performed perfectly.
I'll be keeping the battery fully charged! Thanks for all the help.

Sorry, if there is a simple explanation, I simply don't know what it is. I was led to this conclusion by comments in this old thread I came across... Also, much thanks for the excellent ProTec wiring diagram which helped me test the 'hot' pins for voltage, etc. https://www.speed-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45017 |

Since it was a "simple" matter, there must be a simple explanation of how low voltage causes spark scatter, in simple words for my simple mind

RESOLVED.
Cleaned a few grounds and ran the voltmeter around. Finally got around to battery test-50% charge. Charged fully-started right up-runs (on trailer) perfectly. In the end, I think it was a simple matter of low voltage causing spark scatter. To the Delta we go-thanks.

I have zero Pro Tec experience to share. We may need to wait for Ken to catch this one.

It stays indoors, covered. But I guess moisture is possible.
Before I rip out the ProTec and buy and install a conventional ignition system, are there any troubleshooting procedures that I can perform before tossing money and parts it? Thanks

Any chance moisture got into the electrical system? A little moisture can make the spark jump and cause misfires.

'94 351 SN carbureted with ProTec.
So, went to start after winter indoor storage. Battery fully charged, good grounds on batt cable. Backfiring out carb, won't run. From just sitting? Is this the beginning of the end for the ProTec?
