Ford, distributer is located at front of engine and chevy located at rear of engine, just put that up there in case

Sorry about your problem, when you get back running take a look at this link you might want to install the high temp/low oil pressue alarm so this won't happen again.
I put one on mine last year so when my wife or kids are driving if the buzzer goes off they know to just shut down immediately. The buzzer is a little anoying cause it goes off when you turn on the key until the engine starts but you learn to live with it for the security it adds. Good luck getting back on the water. |

nevermind doing the long block myself.
i have decided to pay up the extra 1000$ and get a guy to do it just to make sure it is perfect. thank you guys for all the help you were ready to give. |

A pic would certainly help. Most CC and MC of that vintage used Fords. I think MC even put some reverse rotation motors in during that period.

if you can snap some pictures, it may be a chevy if out of a mastercraft , i really dont know what they used in 76, remember the old addage an ounce of prevention.......

Well i was out wakeboarding with my friends the otherday and before i went out i forgot to check the oil pressure.
becuase of my stupid f**cking mistake my engine is siezed and/or the bearings on my crankshaft are all shattered. i am going to pull the engine and either get a guy to install a new crankshaft and bearings or to buy a complete long block and switch them. my question however is how do i identify my motor. i cant seem to find any V.I.N. plate anywhere. im sure its a 351 and the guy i bought it from may have mentioned about pulling it from a 76 mastercraft? im not to sure but if anybody has any advice on how to identify the engine, or where the V.I.N. number might be it would be greatly appreciated. i will keep CCF updated on the engine rebuild and i advise everybody to check your oil level frequently. |
