If not Saturday, perhaps I could drop in on you Friday. You could bring that infected PC and maybe let me borrow your puller. Then I could bring everything back to you on Monday. I want to get this prop in before they start getting busy. I am going to need it back before it starts to get nice out We could always look at the strut bearing later.

"Both lab finishing and blueprinting refer to the process used to insure the accuracy of the propeller rake angle, pitch, progression, pitch variation and cup. This hand process involves thinning the blades and sharpening the leading edges.

The advantage of blueprinting is that it reduces the horsepower required to turn the propeller and generates more usable horsepower for thrust. On an accurate, well-built propeller the speed gain may be 2-3 miles per hour. On a lesser quality propeller, the increase may be 3-4 miles per hour.

The disadvantages of this same thinning and sharpening are greatly reduced blade strength, fatigue resistance, and being more subjective to stress risers occurring at the sharpened leading edge. A sharp leading edge is very prone to minute nicks which create stress risers. These stress risers often propagate cracks that originate from the nick at the leading edge and work their way through the blade. The same thing is true for any nicks at the trailing edge. It is for this reason that we at Hydromotive grind our trailing edges from hub to tip rather than across the blade, thus eliminating any potential stress risers. Reducing the blade thickness from a 1/4" to a 1/8" (1/2 the original thickness) does not reduce the strength by 50%, but actually reduces the blade strength to 12% of the original. Consequently, we can not warrant any propeller that has been lab finished or blueprinted."

This sounds like it would be good if you really wanted to tweek your props performance. I don't know about reducing the thickness of my prop by 50%. I think I would rather keep it as strong as possible.

I looked at hydros ws, and it says he blueprints props, first i heard of this but it may be worth a try...
says you can pickup 2 to 3 miles per hour?

Its just that he is about 2 miles from my house and i want to try him out this summer, I'll post in the future and stop by his shop, I think he has prop scan

I picked up a pump you put on the end of a drill for pumping the tranny fluid. got it at Sears for $8. works great!

all good, considering i work in downtown...im gonna be taking my tariler to eric very soon so he can repack the bearings and check everything out..almost forgot the tranny fluid too..id do it but too cheap to buy a pump...plus hes the trans expert..id screw something up! well figure something out!

give me your prop if ya want, sometime in the near future im going to drop mine off at sante marine..i have a 4 blade acme 422 that i beat up last year...save you money on gas or shipping. if thats who you were planning on having fix it..i got a 15% off card fro mthe boat show also i can give ya...only thing is your gonna have to give me the money when you give me your prop cause they want paid upfront

I have a couple gelcoat repairs to make but I need to wait for some decent weather. then I need to put the top pinstrip back on and give it a good wax job. reinstall the drivers seat. fix the zerk fitting on the trailer wheel. going to install a couple 12volt outlets on the kick panel and mount my XM receiver down there. Tighten the front lift hook (if I can figure put how to get to it in my sport...) and Eric said he would help me pull off my prop and take a look at my strut bearing. I want to send the prop in to get it reconditioned, I have a couple dings on it. Not sure about the strut bearing, so I want to have Eric look at it. then I should be good to go

Thanks Ryan........ I bought the boat used, and it came with the bimini with the zippered slit for the pylon. Don't know what it would cost, but I understand the multi colored bimini's are a little more that solid.
