water pump sensor?

It is either the coolant temperature sensor for the EFI, or the switch to put the engine limp mode, I cannot remember witch, but I think it is the limp mode switch.

I noticed a sensor on the water pump of my 351w PCM EFI engine? What is that sensor for?
