Why do you need a diagram? Simply follow the cable and install the new cable following the same rout. Lift the engine box, rear floor, and look under the dash to see how the cable is routed. I believe you will find that the cable is routed through a black plastic wireway (tube) that routes it from under the dash to just past the battery box. From there it is merely strapped to the side of the stringer to the mounting block close to the rudder.

Please if you you know how to replace steering cable for a 1978 ski nautique how do I get a hold of a diagram of the the boat I want to replace it myself. Steve
