Hi,

Just returned from the boat show in Hessel, MI. Flashed around a few photos of a 16' wood boat that we have been unable to identify. One of the restorers said he thought it was a Correct Craft. We have not been able to find any identifying #'s that we could send to the Mariner's Museum. Chris Craft stamped a hull # someplace...the only thing we can find is a "42" stamped into the inside behind where the back seat would be. It looks simialr to a Chris Craft Rocket..but not quite.. It is a double planked boat, the screw holes were filled, not wood bunged. Cedar inside, mahogany outside...It appears that the bottom was originally red, at one time the entire boat was painted green & yellow, can't tell if it origianlly had a stained or painted hull as someone started a restoration..the original upholstery was red. I have looked at photos posted on this site & it sure looks like those. If I posted some photos would anyone be able to help identify this boat? What reference materials are available? Can you get parts? My husband saved it from the burn pile out of an old warehouse. Is it worth trying to restore it? We currently have a 1959 Chris Craft 17' Ski Boat, a 1959 ChrisCraft 15' Cavalier, a 1959 Century 16' Resorter...

Thanks,

Laura
