Wow...didn't realize I was footin' with a star......shoulda got an autograph.

Did a little show skiing in the 70's and 80's with The West Shore Water Ski Club. Always was a blast. Like Eddie said....when ya ski by and hear that crowd......cool.

Had a lot of fun there. Like Alan said, we left a little earlier that I would have liked due to the drive Dena and I had home (3 hours from Rockford), but we got to see Hollywood ski, which was the main goal of going. All in all, it was a great time.

That 3 man with 1 going in reverse around the boat 4 times had my vote for the best trick... they even played Motley Crue's Kickstart My Heart during it making it even sweeter. Saw a lot of gainers off the jump and that dude Jordan did one slaloming. Hollywood tore it up barefooting on his opening run and then hauled one off the beach after an 8 year old girl back deeped... all in all it was an impressive display.

Johnny, We saw Little Crow, Aquanuts and Chippewa. Got there a little later than expected and left in a hurry since Rob had quite a drive home and we were all pretty toasted in the sun.

From the little bit of skiing that we saw, I would have to say the most impressive individual was the guy from the Aquanuts, I think his name was Josh. For overall on water athlete the guy was incredible.

I'm not on a team, just don't have the time to make the committment, maybe someday. I have been a regular attendee of the Aquanut and Wonderlake shows for years though. And now that the PLBC has one of our own (Hollywood) skiing with Aquanuts I've been learning more and more about show skiing.

Unfortunately, a crazy wedding on Saturday night caused me to get to Nationals a little late Sunday morning and I just missed Wonderlake. The pyramid act you're talking about is also on YouTube, it's incredible. I checked out your buddy from Mad City doing the 720 too, badass. After seeing that it was no suprise to hear that they won best jump act this year. Next year I'll have to make sure I see em all.

Johnny
Are you on a team?
Did you see Wonder Lake do the prebuilt pyramid hot pick up with a total of (6) three highs?
A friend who used to ski on our team does a one man jump act on Mad City's tam, including a 720. It's on YouTube.
I wish I could have been there.

Here are the results from D-1 Nationals for those that are interested.

Did anyone see the around the boat act that Little Crow did? 2 skiers going around the boat in the traditional way and one going the opposite way. They did 4 in a row like that   That was my favorite act, although I only caught about 4 shows on Sunday, so I'm sure I missed some other good ones.

It was good to see some of you guys out there. Alan and Rob, we tried to find you guys after the show, but didn't have any luck.

Mad-City- 2184
Wonder Lake- 1984
RAJ- 1938
Little Crow- 1806
Backwater- 1757
Badgerland- 1682
Aquanuts- 1593
Five Seasons- 1545
Webfooters- 1374
Chippewa Lake- 1344
Ski Broncs- 1332
Otters- 1309
Waterhawks- 1301
Mohawks- 1148

If your going to be there on Sunday, you don't want to miss Backwater's show. I saw it at regionals. The skiing is great and the stage show is a scream.

That could work out really good, weather permitting. We were supposed to have a show in Cadilac but plans fell through. Bingo, open weekend. If the weather cooperates, the lake will be hopping.
We'll figure it out when it gets closer.

I'll be lucky to get my tune up done this week. I thought I could get it Wed but I'll be putting that hoist in. Heading to Warsaw Friday morning for Div ll Nationals. I'll let you know how it goes. Shoot for the weekend of the 11th if you can. Dinners on me at the Inn.

Tullfooter,
let me know how the tune up goes. The 11th sounds pretty good. If you have a prop puller we could always try my acme on your boat and see what you get. I usually know on thursdays what my schedule so lets keep that week end in mind.

I agree with the 40-41mph. That's where I like to foot when we're just playing around. When we do two ski bomb outs, 45-47mph makes for nice hard water. For endurance racing in the rough water, we like a little more speed. Some of the better endurance guys will run 50+. That's not us, we would like to be able to run at 45.

You should really be OK at 40-41mph, I am 220 and run anywhere from 38-42, ideally around 40.

General rule of thumb is 20mph + 10% of the skiers weight.

Friday night was great. The White lake Inn put in a new outside tiki bar. The crowd was good. My son did a flying barefoot start off their dock. The lake was rough enough to paractice footing. The boat ran great until the ground cable pulled out of the terminal end on the block. Jambed it back in, crimped it, we were off and running. Somehow I need a little more speed. I was able to run 43mph with a footer behind the boat and three guys in. I need 45-46mph for my 215lbs. I'm going to tune it up this week, put a timing light on it and see how she runs. I'm getting a hoist put in at White Lake so I'll have access to the boat anytime, rather than having to keep it on the trailer.
Maybe we can put something together for the weekend of Aug 11th.

OK, you should be easy to spot. Now, I can remember the teams we saw before by the boats they used (go figure). Were the Spray Masters the team with the 3 Mastercrafts?

I won't be in the booth, I'm just announcing for the Spray Master's jump team. I'll be on the stage. I'll have my Reverend Horton Heat concert shirt ( It's a work shirt for the jump act) and then something with a Spray Masters logo on it.
See you there. Don't tell anyone but I know where some cold ones will be stashed. Oops, this is the internet.

OK.....we're going to go Saturday, weather permitting. I'll try to remember to wear something "Nautique" and also my green and white "Owners Reunion" hat that I got at GL. My wife and I will be on chairs to the right of the bleachers when looking at the water. We'll try to find the "tool" in the announcers booth during the jumping. Hope to catch up with you there
