I am not certain the amount of time it will take but I would think a couple of hours for each. Even at $20/hour that would be $40 a piece. I ordered some polyester resin earlier this week and perhaps will have some time to experiment this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.

No, not in a hurry. I thought I would find a sample and be be making a mold/reproducing as they don't seem too easy to find. Any idea what you would want for a set of (4)?

FrankT; I would be interested in (4) of the small vent scoops. I would take them in the unfinished stage to save you time.

It was a Christmas gift for my son which is now a father/son project. Last years project was the blue one behind it with Betty Boop on the bow. Although more power I think this will be a safer solution over the outboard.

On the foam issue I do not know if it was wet before it went down but it was wet when it came out. I dug most of the old foam out with the claw of my hammer. At some points water would splash me in the face and you could see a small puddle but within a few seconds the water would be absorbed into the adjacent foam. All of the water came out with the foam and within a day the main/secondary stringers where dry.

She's a Mopar - 318 Chrysler (225HP). The engine wasn't locked up but I ended up opening it up anyway. It looks like it had been rebuilt just before it went down. It's 30 over on the pistons and 10 under on the main and rod journal. I am going to hone and re-ring. I picked up a Holley denominator aluminum intake to make it even lighter.

The 16' Donzi's with equal power will out run the CC's. I'd have to say stock you're talking around 55.

Here is the picture of the 71SN. Down for a rebuild but has potential. At some point it has been repainted. Due to an accident (spent the night on the bottom of Lake Cumberland) it hasn't been out of the garage since 2000. It would appear as if the foam in the boat didn't keep it afloat. All it apparently did was make it sink upside down and when it hit the bottom, broke the windshield, transom light, and rear scoop.





I am following Wakeslayer's thread as his rebuild is very similar.

Didn't ReidP pick up a torino sometime ago, he's been very quiet about it since acquiring it. What type of top end speed are they capable of with the I/O setup?

The Torino/Spoiler/Seperators were mostly VD's. Later years they used more I/O's.

Geno...your looking for the glass scoops, right? I see there are some scoops similar to the mustangs and my skier from late 60's.

Hey Pete - do you have a wiring diagram for the 70 seperator w/ 351? I'm pretty sure it would be the same as any similar with a 351. High res maybe?

No, that is John Dietz's. He stopped in Green Lake on his way up north after picking it up. He wanted to show it to me because we were both excited to find a Torino that wasn't the yellow color. We both didn't think that other colors were made!! He's restoring it along with his two wood CC's he has. The only problem with John is that I hope I'm still alive when he finishes any of his boats! My fleet? What about yours??

You have white, light yellow and a baby blue as original options too! They may not be original to the years but they were used. Did you see the baby blue I found? keep in mind that this blue is faded quite a bit.

Going to have to just fix them it looks like.

Haven't settled on a color yet but the wife sure wants it to be red. The original color was an olive green that looks awful to me.

Geno, Just a thought but you may need to do some fiberglass repair on the ones you have. I don't think you will have any luck finding new ones. Since you are doing the whole boat anyway, it wouldn't be hard. Have you decided on a color yet? Original??

I need four vents for a '70 CC project. Can anyone help?

The vent scoops all appear to be the same from mid 60's to about mid 70's.
