I recently replaced the radion in my boat and found that it has a stting for the clock that keeps it quite bright and also draint eh battery. I found out the hard way.

The radio should not drain the battery in a week. Have you checked your battery? The best way I've found to find a drain is to work at night disconnecting one wire at a time and looking for a tiny spark (may be very hard to see in the day light). But it sounds like you have already tried that. Maybe you just need a new battery.

Yeah, but I never use it and the faceplace is always off. I know that it could still be wired but with a viable battery, should it drain down that much so that the boat doesn't start? If that's the culprit, I'll have to change the wiring

Hi all,

I have a GT-40 that is losing the battery charge after sitting a week plus. When checking the electrical system with everything off, I am seeing a draw on the battery of about .3 to .4 volts. I have checked grounds, disconnected starter and alternator and one by one disconnected wires at the dash to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
