This time of the year is when i get a steady flow of work, the 14/16 hour days are in the past for now, we do alot of winterizations, I try to build my cores and will switch to car trans mode, boat tranny's will trickle in. I still have some big jobs to finish, I also do alot of outdrive work to fill the voids, Merc., OMC., Volvo, I prefer trans work any old day of the week. to date i purchased 90 seal and gasket kits for Borg Warners so it probably means i rebuilt 80 over the summer. I dont keep track of the Paragon's, Twin Disc's, ZF's we do but that would probably be another 30 or so.
I try to relax the next 2 months (8hour days) cause i know whats coming in the spring

Im not one to suggest taking money back from the insurance companies, but this is a little tidbit of info on collision coverage or accidental mis-haps while enjoying the boating season,
they will cover snapped reverse plates, they will cover pulling the transmissions in gear or out of gear while under power, of course they will cover striking objects with prop and will allow complete driveline dis-assembly including trans and damper. These are all considered accidents.
We do alot of insurance work and most do not realize that they are covered.
An accident is an accident and they do happen, of course look at your policy and read the fine print but i think you'll find you are covered.
If you get in an accident in your car the first thing you do is call the insurance company, If you have coverage on your boat dont be afraid to use because it seems like people are afraid to call thier agent when they have an accident with thier boat
