Dave, even on new boats you can see where they repair when it dosn't come out of the mold perfect. My Dads Shamrock had some and I believe my Mustang does also.Just be careful you don't come up with this color,it's already taken

Depending on how much fading you have, you should get a pretty close match. I would suggest staying away from the kits that have you mix your own color from tints.....I've tried and found it next to impossible to even get close to a match.

Thanks for the reference LLS.... Problem is they don't make kits for a 76'. Matching is the only way to attempt these repairs. Pete's right, I think you'll always see it to some degree...

Gary, I don't have a color wheel. I borrowed it from a friend. He's up north and does all of Watercraft Sales glass work. I will probably see him again before GL and see. He is also a member here but doesn't post much. Dial up in the north woods of Wisconsin isn't fun!!!

With any luck, he'll have his Torino done and will be at GL this summer!

Dave, Real close but I'd say you would always see the repair. Some of the pros are real good at mixing but I've still spotted the repair. You could try one of the gel repair kits yourself. If you do, when adding the tint colors, use the head of a toothpick to add TINY amounts!

Guys,
I know I'm being redundant here, but what the hell, so I'm "a.d.d.".....

I have gouges and screw holes in the 76' and want to fill them in.. Is there a change in hell of matching the old gell, (even after wet sanding down to enhance the original color)??

What's the best/easiest filler to use..

Sorry again to rehash, but I'm bringing the boat home to start the Spring work and want to make my list...

Thanks
Dave
