there's nothing marine about the cap and rotor just as long as it matches the dist model your good to go, the base of the dist is what contains the marine specific items that make it a marine distributor.

Yes on the valve covers. Alternators and carbs need to be marine. Its fine to use standard plugs, but be sure to get the right ones for your engine (standard 351w's use Autolite 24's, HO's use 764's). The cap and rotor are marine and need to match your distributor.

Thanks to all! I'll talk to a rep at Summit to assure that I am getting the low ones. Third try has to be a charm.

My ford racing tall ones fit (minor rubbing on one side a paper thinkness or two clearance on the other) but they wern't finned, tall and finned and I doubt you stand a chance. Standard height finned covers are on a few motors around here, I would say used ones would be found on ebay with some patience. My new hiteks I had made with a little bit more clearance (4-5mm) so my tight fitting days are over.

Keep in mind that anything considered to be "stock height" will clear the risers without a problem. The "tall" style will interfere, or come very close. I know JoeinNY has a set of tall ones on his 408 and was able to fit them on with the PCM manifolds, but thats probably where you ran into problems in the past.

Forget the flea market and get yourself a Summit catalog. They got everything in there.

I am interested in buying a set of finned aluminum valve covers for a PCM 351 Windsor.
I have struck out twice at flea markets. They were too tall and would not clear the exhust risers.
