Next on my list of problems to cure is the fuel gauge that is constantly incorrect. I've only taken the boat out once since purchasing it, but I filled it out on the way to the lake. Once in the water, the gauge read a 1/2 tank. It seems to fluctuate between 1/4 and 3/4. Does this sound like the sending unit? Any remedies?

It may be the sender. You would need to pull it out of the tank and then with a OHM meter check it's resistance over the full to empty range. It should be fairly linear and consistent. By the time you do that, you might as well put a new one in!!

Just a newbie here but my neighbor had a simlar problem with his 2005 SN and after much argravation he finally determined it to be shards of the gas tank that had fallen inside of the tank during the machining process at the factory. Believe it or not there were actually several small spiral pieces of metal and plastic inside of his tank. After removing the pieces from the tank, the gauge registered correctly.

I checked the resistence today off the ground and positive wire on the top of the sending unit on the gas tank. My tank is about 7/8 full and I got a reading of 60 ohms. Does this sound right? I tried cleaning the sending unit, but it didn't seem to do anything to resolve this issue.

I'm betting it's been replaced with a universal style that isn't accurate, had a simular issue on mine fixed by get a sending unit from MWCC, read perfect after that.

If your boat is sloped transom like my 92SN,good luck getting it to read right.I just consider the highest bounce is about what you have left.If quits bouncing your very low.
