At the end of this thread I had a question that you may have missed. The thread is about the MC submarine vid on youtube again. I'm pretty sure the trans wouldn't make it but what would break? Something in the trans, dampener, shaft??

thread on MC submarine

Pete, normally you would snap the reverse plates, the ones I use would be a different story, they would probably slip to a point of high heat and warp and even possibly drag in nuetral. Borg warners again, are bulletproof respective to maintance.
If it was a PCM the front snap ring land would break on the front cover or the ring gear would come out of the forward drum which runs with the reverse planets.

changing the subject to alignment, only one other time in 20 some years have i seen the tail of the input shaft snap in half due to mis-alignment, we got one today and the case is severly worn at the 12:00 o clock.
it takes alot to snap this little tail on the shaft...I'll take a pic and post and I'll see who it came from cause this guy has some serious alignment issues

Thanks Eric,
Now all we need is a volunteer MC owner to do a WOT forward and then a immediate WOT shift into reverse test!

Nate, I think we need a spy to go over to the MC site and set someone up to do this test for us. Maybe we can get Eric as the trans specialist to tell them it cleans the clutch plates and afterwards the trans will run like new. He's always looking for work anyway!!
