While we were out on the Classic on Geneva Lake, WI last Saturday, I spotted a familiar profile at a pier. Went in for a closer look and it was a San Juan. The guy lives in IL and bought the boat from the east coast after searching for 2 years. I told him about the site and about GL. Hopefully he'll chime in.

Steve,

The Classic on Lake Geneva, that had to be interesting! IIRC Saturday was pretty darn windy as well, big wave fun!

That San Juan is a Big Boat.

Not as interesting as my Atom during the show parade at the Abby one year. Got out of the harbor and it was bad! Strong winds out of the north east. Gl last year sure reminded me of that day on Geneva. Of coarse at GL I stayed as close as possible to the boat in front of me. I couldn't that year on Geneva because everyone in front of me had taken off!! No bilge pump in the Atom ether.

Yeah, it was really rough. But it was the only lake open around here. We went out for 2 hours, soaked the kids, couldn't get into a place to eat and then left.

At least it scratched the itch, though.

The San Juan is 24'

Back in 1976 while working at a Correct Craft dealer at Lake Lanier, Georgia I was able to take a ride on a San Jaun. We had an old (retired Navy) customer who we referred to as "The Captian" who took me out on his. I am pretty sure his boat had a flying bridge and twin screws. It was a lot of boat and a great ride!

I could see me adding one of these to my fleet. Anybody have one?

Welcome Jim. Did you find someone to take a look at your prop?

Greg,
I have not seen a San Juan since back in '76. Don't know what happened to that boat.
I also ordered a new prop from Whitelake. Will swap out and have the old one repaired. May send it to Delta Propeller for rebuild. It is not badly damaged.

I agree, an old San Juan with a fly bridge would be an awesome boat to own...

Nice lookin' boat.

We had a guy named Chris that had one in the '80s in our club on Sandusky Bay. Had twins. What a great party boat!
