What is the best way to clean a flame arrestor. Soapy water and air pressure? Some sort of solvent?

I used Purple Power cleaner /degreaser to clean mine. I used a solution diluted with 50% water and sprayed it on let it soak, and rinsed it with water, then used the compressor to blow it dry. Looks like new

I put mine in the dishwasher when the wife wasn't looking. Came out pretty good.

Jd, Even though your wife isn't looking, I don't feel the dishwasher is a good spot to clean it or at least not with dishwasher detergent. The stuff is very caustic and may attack it.
