THIS IS PRICELESS!!!

      After being interviewed by the school administration, the
teaching prospect said,

     'Let me see if I've got this right:

     'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct
their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor
their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them
a love for learning.

      'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on
drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self
esteem and personal pride.

      'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship,
sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a
checkbook, and apply for a job. You want me to check their heads for
lice, recognize signs of anti-social behavior, and make sure that they
all pass the state exams.

      'You want me to provide them with an equal education regardless
of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents by
letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.

      'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard,
a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that
qualifies me for food stamps. You want me to do all this and then you
tell me:

      I CAN'T PRAY ?

You're kidding sanity!!! You shouldnt have posted that here. Someone from the ACLU might be lurking here and is on the phone this very minute putting a stop to such an outrage.

I just thought it was funny.
I know being a teacher is a tough job and I don't think I could do it. If you can see the humor in the tough times it makes the load a little easier to bare.

From an educational standpoint, the study of the Bible and the Koran are valuable, and, I believe, appopriate at the high school level. These two documents are woven throughout our literature and poetry. They form the basis of the social, economic, legal, and governmental systems of many countries and societies throughout the world. They have been the foundation of many, if not the majority, of the world's wars. And, they are key components of the belief systems held by the vast majority of the world's population.

The educational purpose for studying these documents is much different than religious purpose for studying these documents. BKH

I am a teacher reading this on a cold Friday night in November. I really got a chuckle because this just about sums up my week. Teaching is my chosen profession and for the most part I really love what I do (it helps to have June, July and August to enjoy my Nautique) but everyday is a new challenge just as the post indicates. Thanks for posting reading this made my night.
