Hello all,
I think the problem is the front tranny seal, but, I thought i would post the problem. 95SNOB 525hrs. Every time I put my boat in storage I get a small amount of tranny fluid in the bilge. It drips about 10ml or so. Then it just stops. Plenty of fluid is in the tranny. It appears to be coming from the bell housing. During use i never notice any fluid. Only when I put the boat up. The only place it could be coming from is the front seal, correct? i am pretty anal about my boats, do you think it is worth fixing? If I do pull the tranny should I do any other work to the tranny while it is out? thanks! ernest |

My velvet drive drips from there too and I just keep adding oil until winter comes and then I might pull it out and fix it.

I had the same thing happen and it bugged me enough to replace the front seal. It's not too bad of a job to do- maybe 5 hours total to pull the trans, replace the seal, replace the trans and align if needed.

you guy's need to make sure that there isnt any pitting or grooves on the shaft, you can install speedy sleeves if need be, I have the part number if someone needs it, I'll look and post if so.
Or: you can push the seal deeper in the pump so the spring lip rides on the good part of your input shaft....seals leak for a reason |

Thanks guys... I just cant decide if I want to give it a go or not. Over the winter is really the perfect time, as I will not be in a hurry and can pick Eric/forums brain and get it done right!
