search "skibum stringer" read through those threads on the first page and you'll get a pretty good idea of what you're in for. It'll take some time, but there is a lot of good info.

The guys on here are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

You arent asking this question with regard to that great looking 70 you posted on the other thread are you? Doesnt look like that boat would have stringer/foam issues? Plus, you said its just about sold. You have another project boat?

Todd, The search won't get you to the pictures in our diaries. The search will get you to preexisting threads on the topics you search for.

Read carefully what I said in my post:

For your dash, I just went to the diaries, put in years 69 to 70 and found three pictures."

The PO made a "custom" dash panel!

"Yes, a PO has done a hack job on your instrument cluster."

Edit: In your other posting, you mentioned your dad was the original owner?? Is he still around? You also don't have the original gauges. Are they automotives??

You will find plenty of inconsistencies with the early CC's. The plate for the speedo's at the helm in the one picture I found, I feel was a add on by the owner. Maybe he was tall and the wheel blocked the view.

I'm very noted for my keep it original ideas so I would encourage you to do so. The dual speedos at the helm and the smaller (than your's) dash gauge plate as shown in the 3 pictures. Finding a set of original Teleflex gauges that work will be a problem. Be patient and keep looking on ebay if you go the original route. Patching the oversize hole in the dash will be the other problem even if you go with your idea of using a multi-function gauge (NO automotive). It's getting the color matched. I would recommend re gelling the complete face of the dash blending at the top edge and in the corners. These two spots are least likely to show a minor color difference.

I asked you if you had asked your father (forgive me if he's no longer around) about why the dash plate was made and the gauges swapped out???
