Nope. Will do this week. It should not be an issue as the exhaust is exactly where it was before. The only wider part could be the hose thickness and the clamp nuts, and I can spin them around.

I am planning on laying in the carpet edge trim tonight. It is, I believe, extruded rubber, correct me if I am wrong. Due to my poor cutting on the edge in a couple little, but pretty obvious spots, I have to use this. I do not really want to use the carpet adhesive I have as it is messy putting in down, and I did not leave a lot of room to work with on the edge. Perhaps 2 inches at best in a few places. I want to use something as an adhesive in a caulking tube so I minimize overapplying the glue, and it is easier to get down in there. Any suggestions on what to use that would be convenient to get at a HD, or Lowes ?

Yeah, I do not want to wait for the 5200 to cure. That stuff was still gooey 10-12 days after I did my crossmembers, and motor mount backing plates with it.
How does the 4200 compare with cure times?
I was thinking construction adhesive too. I have a tube of some Liquid Nails but says to not use on plastic nor vinyl. It would probably be ok, but would like to be sure.

The carpet is rubber backed, but will only get a little adhesive to it, the last inch inch is the plastic trim. This is being glued to my epoxied plywood.

I used 5200...mostly because I had some and it was on sunday. It hasn't budged; even when I was 'practicing' engine R&R?!!?   LOL

I did end up getting the fast cure 5200. Getting the trim edge onto the carpet was pretty challenging. As I mentioned I did not leave much unglued around the edges. 1.5 to 2 inches. Do not do this. Leave more, if you are using the edging. I had to slide the trim on from the front and work it all the way down 11 feet. This sucked. The starboard side turned out fanastic. The port side turned out really good with the exception that I was using a hairdryer to warm the trim to make it easier to slide and to get some of the bends out of it from being shipped here. For some reason (read: idiocy) it got too hot in one spot and melted a small spot in the carpet. I somehow managed to not throw every freaking tool in the shop through the wall. There is still a blue cloud floating around in the shop. I am really bummed, but it is not that big that I am going to rip out the entire carpet and re-do it. I used the hairdryer instead of a heat gun for this very reason. It is what it is and I cannot do much about it. I used this method on the starboard side with no ill effects. I really do not get it. Anyway. It looks great and I will post pics today. I put in the rear seat and, yes Chris, the motor box fits fine. I have to admit for a second, even though I knew it was not an issue, your post came to mind as me and my neighbor were dropping it over the motor. Putting seats in today, a little more wiring, the kickboard and I am done. Then, for my last act of rocking the new CC pennant.

The water is a little thick still. Guessing we still have 24 inches of ice out there. As we are at -11*F (-23*C.) this morning, we are probably not losing any ice today...

Dou you have plans to round of the floor and carpet edging on your exhaust entry points into the floor?

replaced ammeter with voltage gauge, and replaced temp gauge with a matching one.



Has anyone ever used on of these safety wire tools? Seriously cool. My brother has got a tool collection that you would not believe and he whips out some pretty interesting stuff.



I added a Blue Sea fuse panel behind the dash. My wiring is pretty much a huge wad of spaghetti back there, so Joe started cleaning it up. We have a ways to go to get it completely done but got a good start. Can finish that later this Spring.

I was wondering if your motor box would clear the exhaust, i was baffled when i seen the exhaust going outboard and i thought it was something you were doing on your own,
heck with all those other pics, the last one is all i need to see, should put the collar a little closer to the stuffing box though....always a critic in the bunch. nice work throughout.....in your case only 6 more months till summer lol

yeah, its so the prop doesnt hit the rudder or to the likes of hitting the hull if the shaft slides out or your coupling bolts come loose. i usually set them a 1/4' inch or so from the box
