Looking to replace the blue rub rail insert on my 1997 SN. Dealer says they are back ordered. Any suggestions?

try west marine or the manufacturer directly. Ask CC who the supplier is and then go to them. It will save you cash going that way, no mark-up. There maybe a logo on he rub rail as well identifying the manufacturer.

I believe the OEM is TACO. However, the blue insert is probably manifactured exclusively for CC and not publically available.

Actually, all I'm looking for is the blue insert - not the entire rub rail assembly. The insert is a plastic tube that resembles a small garden hose. Somebody makes this. I just need to find out who.

GO TO WEST MARINE AND BY THE BLUE INSERT TUBING FOR TACO RUB RAIL OR YOU CAN ORDER ONE OF THE OTHER THREE COLORS THEY HAVE AVAILABLE.

DO you have it now or do we have to look up the item number for you as well????????????????????????

It sounds like you never looked at WESTMARINE.COM It was pretty clear all you wanted was the insert.

I didnt know that was even available much less just the insert. Kind of expensive and a long piece but news to me. Thanks for the info!

If you go to a west marine store they will sell it by the foot and you don't have to buy it bulk

The 20 foot southwind has that stuff in rope form that has to be fixed to be perfect. I had no idea that stuff was so readily available. Maybe I am just easily amused but I am glad to know this. I didnt even know what it was called.

On the older boat's it was rope, on the newer one's they use rubber. It really makes no differnce you can use either or just as long as you have the same diameter as what's in it currently. I perfer the rope it holds up better against nick's and cuts and you have more options in colors and availiblity.

Just so you know the insert in the newer boats is plastic, not rubber.

Also, I believe the TACO rubber rails listed in West Marine's catalog are not the exact size (profile) as used by CC.
