Well my boat lost the right side hub and now the axle is destroyed. The tire hopped a fence started a fire and the rubber is no good. Anyway what weight axle should I use

I just had to replace my axle and hubs two weekends ago. I went with the Eastern Marine 3500 lb.

I will have to post pictures when I get them. I was thinking the 5k rated one. Because maybe the hubs wont go out as easy.

My guess is that your hub took a hike because of poor mantaince. 3500 should be enough unless your really loading the boat down, which is not a good idea! just my .02

Did you get any pictures of the tire on fire? LOL

It is very likely that the hub came off because of bad bearings , or lack of lubrication . Not because of being to heavy .
But for a piece of mind I would also go with the 5k one . You need to be aware of your bolt pattern on the new hubs to match your wheel.I would also buy an extra set of bearings so you have them when needed .

I have buddy hubs so I greased it before I left. I don't have any pictures of the tire on fire but I do have pictures of the after math the tire rolled about a 1/4 mile into the field. The fire started right on the side of the freeway.

The boat is at a shop they are doing the work because it's 150 miles away and the axle is destroyed. I figure the axle and new hubs should run around $200.

Axle and two hubs total with shipping from Eastern Marine was $244.30 It came the day they said it would. Be sure you know your measurements. 1)Tracking width (end of hub to end of hub)basically centerline of fender to fender. 2) centerline of springs.

What length did you purchase. Also what weight ratio? Your total of $244 came with everything bearings, hubs, axle. Pretty much everything you need besides U bolts and leaf springs?
