I'm looking for help finding a set of PCM GT40 heads for my '97 Ski Nautique. Original set cracked between the exhaust and intake valve. I am interested in new or used heads. If the used heads need to be reworked, I am still interested as long as they are not cracked.

Gents
I know someone can help this newbee out. He's got to get his boat running because all he has to foot behind is this really beat up 89 BFN.

That don't seem like a problem....

tristate cylinder heads is where i ordered mine...they are remanufacture and ready to bolt on....pricey though in the 500-600 range..also ebay is an option....
another vendor is clearwater cylinder heads.. try google them....
Fixing yours is also an alternative..but I guess for the price of having them shipped machined etc, is better get ones in good shape...

Tull footer - I always appreciate your sincere concern.

86 BFN - If that is your boat in post...very nice. I host a 38 mile barefoot race - inboard only - just outside of Toledo, Ohio you should bring your boat and some footers so your boat gets a chance to stretch it's legs.

Kapla - Are the heads you got exactly the same as the originals you pulled off? I've found that the valves don't match up on the replacements (they're too small) compared to the valves in the GT 40 heads I have now.

Brian knows I'm joking about the 89 they're footing behind. Rumor has it Ben's 89 is mint, as if the PO kept it out of the water and just trailered it around. I haven't seen the boat, but I will, at the races this summer.

really can´t tell as the heads are still in miami...about to be shipped to Argentina. Actually the heads I ordered are gt40p (better than the gt40) heads that are from 5.0l automotive engine, but had the bolt drilled for the bigger diameter bols that the 351w has..By valves do you mean valve covers or the valves itself? The heads I´m talking about come already assembled with valves, springs seat, etc...you will reuse or chance pushrods and the rocker arm, and thats it....

the old heads I removed were the base engine ones and were also cracked but from the outside, so engine ran ok, as the water dripped to the outside of the engine...

Which side cracked?
The reason I ask is my '95 cracked the left side in the same place.

Soooo if your left side is good and you go with a new full set. I would consider helping you unload the left head.

Kapla, it wasnt smack, I had that set of heads in the classifieds for 2 or 3 months.....Alan took the set to a guy somewhere...they were NEEEEEWWWWWW not used
250.00 and to think I couldve bought 10 sets from the Ford employee, at the time I was going to build a stroked 302 and needed the heads...sold em, gottem back
the engine was a seperate deal, I shouldve yanked the heads and been done with that one...waited a month until the PO calmed down and put those in the classifieds,

You realize that both heads are the same, right? There is no left or right.

I have a few sets of GT40 heads at my shop. I will have to check with ReidP on a price and if they are new or rebuilt I should know something on Tuesday.
Have a good weekend!
