I gotta think tape is way less dorky than plugs. Can't even see the tape in pics. And without Eddie turning me on to the tape there is no way I'd be back to doing what I am now.

try the noseclip its way better at keeping water out...I've tried tape its a pain and leaks...the clip is easy and works better. You can still blow out too without it coming off.

Wanna be a better barefooter? Yes? Ok, then do this:
Foot Your @ss Off Year 'Round! This video is a compilation of a segement from EVERY clip I shot of GlassSeeker the last 12 mos. How did I improve my skills the last year? Hanging out with this cat all year, that's how. Ski with good footers = becoming a good footer. |

si, grosso mono, mi amigo! senor andy es la bomba!
I have been footin' with this cat for a year, and it shows because I have gotten better. Every time I step into the boat, I push the footin' in one way or another. I am never content with where I am at. I want to constantly improve and learn. Today I head out to the water ski club for 4 days of footing and good times! I would call it the end of year bash, but my year never ends cuz I foot year round! |

hey, my son John ripped his first big time barefoot run at 7. OK, its on the boom, but it is real cool!
John Foots Lare in the weekend, without prompt, he ripped a one-foot by the crowded beach at our club. he gets the whole point of footin': best show-off sport in town! |

Please get that kid a barefoot suit. There is nothing worse than falling barefooting with a vest on, it doubles the scorpion. I fell when I was 13 with a vest on (and did a scorpion) and it took me 6 months for my back to stop hurting and a year to get the courage to barefoot again. Tim |

Nice old school pic, Tique! That's how they rolled back then! I am in the market for kids suits, but they grow out of them so quick.
Anyway, for those that watch these things, here is a wrap up of a full 4 day foot fest at my ski club over the weekend. I ran 3-4 sets per day, and right now I am tapped! Labor Day Fun! |

Ripped a sweet set over the weekend. No video because it was 2 of us. I do have to share the scene as we got off the water at about dusk on Friday night. Looks like footin' weather:

This was the last day of summer for these guys. I think they are ready for short line. Maybe they'll get a chance at Lake George.
I think David, (the older one) is getting great satisfaction knowing his brother is getting killed with spray. |

Bruce, they'll have no problems with the short line.
We'll find some calm water Saturday and get them out there. I remember just a couple years ago when they tried on the trainer for the first time. It's really cool seeing their progress. -Brad |

SN206- tell me why your deep is not consistant? whats happening?
Also when you say shoeless are you meaning you've been using real shoeskis or ? what are you using? if you want some pointers we'll be happy to help. Neckbraces help more on backwards falls but I wear one almost always because it helps more than it could hurt in any fall. you can get just a cheapie from barefoot company at lake elmo sports($40)http://www.lakeelmosports.com/home.php?cat=47 |

keep the handle locked in to your belly button/waist, arms are bent, don't leave feet on rope too long, practice just riding on your butt(actually lower back) off the 5 foot/boom.
the weaving may be from sitting up too much on the round part of your butt, keep laid back a little more so you ride on the flatter small of the back, should stop the weaving. are you trying to get outside the wake?....you don't have to do that, you can just get up between the prop wash and whichever wake side you go to, don't worry so much about getting all the way out of the wake...you can ski out of it after you get up. |

SN206: I never ski without a neck brace now. Buy the BFC, don't waste your money on the others IMO. Like Andy said, a must backwards, but it keeps you confident forwards, too. Not worried about getting hurt.
Here is some footage from yesterday at the ski club. Warm, smooth and deserted. I was not in my best form, I was in that clinic with Andre on Thursday, and got tapped. Another Day at the Office! By the way, I taped a tripod to my pylon to get the video. Not bad, considering I did not have a photographer. |

Nice job, ready for short line. Ditch the gloves, though, they are good for gardening, not barefooting. I was shamed into ditching them myself, for good reason, and never use them, never want to. Plenty of grip here, few calouses. |

Nice Job, SN, your neck will thank you. I was out last week with Chuck of BFC.com, who invented that neckbrace, and he wore his EVERY run!
Clinics are good, get them if you can. Best thing helped me was hooking up with footers that are WAY better than me. 15 months ago, I did not know how to barefoot. It is skiing with these guys that I have been able to progress so fast. How I hooked up with Andy and the others was by putting a post on BFC.com looking for a ski school in my area, and these guys responded saying "come footing with us!" The rest is history and one wild freaking ride! You might try that site to help you. |
