Has anyone changed out their horn? If so how do you do it? I have a '99 sport nautique and would like to try this on my own.

thanks!

Me too, how about a replacement horn for a deck mounted horn on a 78 Ski Tique........ It sounds pitiful but I would like to keep it close to original. Any suppliers out there.........?

Steve,
Before you start looking for a new horn, grab the volt meter and see what you're feeding it. It doesn't take much of a low voltage to affect the sound.

Which horn do you have? Seafit still makes one of the models that went on many 70's era CC's.

54 Atom

77 Tique

64 X55 Dunphy

Keep it original, Pete

Pete,

Doh! That is a great idea........ In my automotive horn trials, it was never an issue with supplied voltage, it was always a crappy horn. It sure sounds like it isn't getting enough juice. Thanks for the reminder.... This boat has had some electrical issues.

BTW it isn't a trumpet style like your Tique's, it is the white compact deck mount variety (I can't seem to locate a direct replacement, so I hope it is a voltage issue).
