I just bought a 2003 226 and wanted to make sure I have winterized it correctly. Below is the list of places I have drained and I wanted any imput from this group.

Thanks in advance.

2 plugs in v-drive
2 plugs in block
2 plugs in manifolds
1 water strainer
1 plug in "j" hose on front og engine
removed main hose from strainer going under the engine and pushed in bilge and let the water back drain.

Reading the manual, it states 1 plug engine/transmission cooler.

I'm not sure where this is? can anyone help?

Look for 2 transmission lines going to a long cylinder like canister, with a rubber hose going to the top of it and a rubber hose coming out the bottom of it.Should be near your strainer maybe, take the bottom water hose off or there might be a plug near the bottom of the transmission cooler near that rubber hose. Take only the small plug out. Do not take any lines loose, just the plug or the rubber hose.

Tom,
It's best to just remove the lower water hose off the trans cooler and don't mess with the plug. Some don't even have a plug but the real reason is removing the plug can damage the cooler. It's made from thin copper soldered together and if the plug is stuck the shell and threaded boss can twist opening up the soldered joint.
