We just purchased a real nice 2002 Ski Nautique S/E. She's in really great shape, and I can't wait to make some turns behind her.

All of the 2002 paperwork and the manuals that came with the boat list and show integrated cup holders and the pod style dash with the LCD gauges as standard equipment- our boat doesn't have these- it has a keyed ignition (without the pod), standard white gauges, and no integrated drink holders. I don't get along well with electro-gismos, so this is all fine with me- although the integrated drink holders look nice. This boat does have the 310 hp PCM Pro-Boss engine option though.

I'm just curious as to why there is no mention in any of the literature or sales information about the S/E model and the equipment that this boat has. I'm thinking that it had to be ordered this way from the factory. Any ideas out there?

Have you tried contacting the origanal dealer or CC themselves with the HIN?

The Godfather (Dave Hendricks) can propbabaly dig out the explanantion, he works for CC.

Just be patient for him to catch up on the site or send him a PM.

SE Boats, Being that 2002 was the first year of the limited and SE and Team packages CC did not do a whole lot in advertising the SE.
Most all SE packages consisded of analog gauges, Key switch, not much as far as any other options. Maybe a base stereo system.
2002 may have also been the last year a GT-40 was available.
2002 196 Ski Nautiques had some initial spray and leaning problems, These were squared away about hull number 35 their were a few that were bought back and the problems were rectified and few that were brought in by the owners to have the problems fixed. Most all agree that the 196 first and second (strakes removed) generation hull were one of the best slalom and jump boats ever produced. keep in mind their was an excodus of trickers tha were staunch CC owners when we came out with the 196, nice thing is we made up for it converting slalom skiers over.
Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.

SE were entry level boats. The key switch and analog gauges are a positive if you ask me. The digital gauges failed all the time, and the keypads have been known to do so too. The keypad is like $300 and you aren't getting one at Napa on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon. You can install cup holders easily, just have to be comfortable drilling a couple big holes in your boat. Not a big deal.

Thanks for the responses, I agree about the absence of the "Pod" and gauges, so that is a plus with me. We bought the boat from the dealer who sold it originally (we are the 2nd owners)and it was ordered that way- as an SE and with the pro-boss- a real good combo if you ask me. I was just curious if it (the SE)was ever even acknowledged in any of the paperwork, because I couldn't find it anywhere. HID is CTC23031A203 so it should be out of the 35 range with the teething problems. I hope it is as nice to ski behind as my friend's '05 anyway. I'll have to post up a few pics at some point.
