Has anyone used Teak Guard to refinish their teak. What's your opinion.

No name,
Yes, there is a thread on the Teak Guard. It peels off just like any other hard non oil finish looking like s*** after several months. Their web site looks too good to be true!!!

There's plenty of good info on teak refinishing in the forums.

I just sanded mine last winter and applied a coat of oil then all throughout the summer I just kept reaplying when it looked dry. Looks awsome IMHO.

Sand it with 80 grit. Take some TSP (Tri Sodium Phosphate, found near the painting supplies) mixed with some bleach and a little bit of liquid laundry detergent to make a paste, then use a stiff brush to scrub it into the grain. Rinse, allow to dry in the sun, then apply teak oil until it can't hold anymore.

I did this to mine when I first got it. Now, all I have to do is apply a little teak oil when it starts to look dry and your good to go. Mine looked really bad when I got it. I was amazed how well it cleaned up, and it still looks great today.
