Marty,
Back up light? That's a new one for me! I have never seen a transom mounted light on Chris or any other wood boat. I suspect the seller added the key word "Chris Craft" feeling he would get more action. I've got a feeling that the light is the aft transom mounted Nav light that several manufacturers including Correct Craft tried to get past the USCG in the early 70's.

its a nav light as the one in the pic..they do install those here in boats..
