I´m posting this pictures for you guys to point me your thoughs on my alligment, boat runs smooth, no vibrations, I can move the shaft with one finger when lubricated (watch out HW)..bla bla, but I have this anoying thuuuuuuu sound in the reange of 2200 to 2400 rpm..(normal cruise speed) over and above that speed no sound.
I plan to put the boat in the trailer and take it to my friens shop to work this out, as i´m not allowed to work on the boat at the marina.


















this it where the shaft lays, I suported it to center it while doing alligment....


strut was put in the same position it was removed, but I think I will have to shim it in some sort of way....

note I did not replace the strut bearing, so it may require to be changed...

i would say go back to the drawing board, the strut bearing may be worn and allowing the easy turn, by the looks of the log and the strut being pressed on one side it still looks way out. get some new bearings and start there, get that shaft centered and work towards the engine

Seb,
From the pictures, it looks like your strut is bent to port. The shaft may be turning freely due to wear on the cutlass bearing. I'd get the strut checked, a new bearing in it and bolt it up to the boat and see where you're at.

prior to reinstalling I took the strut to the machine shop where the shaft was and prop where worked..and they stated the bearing was little worn but still usable, and that the strut had to be checked on the boat. I see it slightly bent also but wonder if shimming it can compensate that little bent...
To this point is the tranny under risk?
as i plan to use it like this till may and then work on this while the cold is there.

The trans won't be at risk as long as the alignment was done at the coupling. I question the shop that told you the strut had to be checked on the boat. The base is set on a surface plate, a fixed point is established and measurements are taken to both sides of the bore in the strut. Any machine shop should have a flat surface. You can even bolt it down to a milling table and use one of it's axis's to get the measurements.

They fabricate shaft, struts, rudder, and skegs for local production boats, I guess they know a lot, but I consider attention sometimes is not the best to privates like me....
As for the coupling alligment it was correctly done, mayor diference was .02"
Anyway I plan to address all testings In may when I take the boat to my friends shop.
