Hello,
I'm driving/riding Correct from years and I need help about my new 2009 Correct 196 (120 hours) Spider cracks appeared on it last season (joined pictures) The boat is a 2009 Correct Craft 196. I use it for : - slalom 50% time - wakeboarding (with 200 L fatsac + 3/4 people in it) The boat is sleeping in water (river) from may to october. I don't know what the matter is ... Impacts made when parking ? But : - both sides of the boat are damaged and the biggest impact is on the side which never meet the platform. - parking place is protected by tires Too much weight ? But, - the limit is 1200 lbs - I've been told about riders who charge more their boats - I've never meet any problem with my oldest 196 (2004) Quality but the sailor salesman says no. Please, need help. The issue is : - Where does the problem come from (problem of quality, weight, impact, other) - Need I to repair it or will the damage happen again in 2010 - Has anybody met such problem with their boat Please help. Each opinion / advice is welcomed. |

That looks to be a inside impact in the trunk. I think I would be worried about the white build up on the bottom also.

Thanks for your answer.
Actually, I always put the pylon in the trunk while going slalom. Do you think it could cause damages ? Why worrying about white build up ? |

Don't mean to criticize but your 1 year old boat looks like it's 40 with all that crud on it.
Use some acidic cleaner like 'the Works' toilet cleaner to take the scum off, then give it a good coat of wax. Have a fiberglass shop fix the gel coat. Something hammered it - must be your pylon - it won't fix itself. |

Ma,
I have to admit that when I saw that bottom on your boat, I thought it was some king of new bottom paint!! What river is this boat moored on? Is it brackish? You ask why worry about it? Performance for one thing but I feel people on this site take more pride in their CC ownership. We all may not be anal about keeping our boats spotless but most will at least make a effort. |

I've seen 10yr old Bayliners in better shape, good thing you can always justify time into a C.C. All joking aside, of I HAD to keep my boat in the water for the season, I would buy the 3M clear film and throw it on every season, may cost a couple hundo's, but worth it.

Indeed, the boat is moored on a river from may to october so that the crud. Don't worry, the boat has been cleaned and wintered (pressure + acid + antifouling) as soon as we picked it out of water. To conclude, - Impact should come from pylon - I need to fix the gel coat in the impacted area Thanks |

the damage is either from you throwing stuff in the locker wrecklessly and damaging the gel, not cover by warrenty either, or from docking and hitting something, also not covered by warrenty. As far as the crud on the hull, it does slow you down but I would be more worried about gel-kote Blisters than any thing else. Amazing how some people just don't care and trash new toys. |

Wow! Why bother fixing or cleaning it- just run it in 2010, junk it and buy a brand new 2011. CC needs you.
