I picked my boat up from marina storage and noticed a large oil spot (12" Diameter)on the carpet right buy the oil filter. The marina must have spilled this in the fall during my oil change and winterization. Any thoughts on how to clean this up?

I'd try dawn dish detergent first , and the Purple Power second.   If its been there that long, its probably gonna leave a heck of a stain.

Sometimes you can find vinyl spray paint that will match the carpet and hide the stain if its just a small spot.

Use a paint or oil removal product. Rinse and a extract the spot. If you get the spot out. Dry it quick. Place a towel over the spot and place weights on the towel. Many people can get spots out but they come back because they dont get them dry quick enough. The towel will stop the spot from "wicking back". Wicking is the moisture coming to the tips of the carpet fiber causing them to brown out.

I've had good luck with a product called Carbona. At least on fabric, I've never tried it on my boat carpet. But sending the cleaning bill to the Marina might be a better idea Lol. Carbona

I would try some kind of carpet cleaner, and a pressure washer. It is amazing how well a pressure washer will clean up your carpet. Dont give it full strength, just enough to clean it without damaging it.

The Dawn worked perfectly. Close this out and Dawn is the easy solution.
