My Tacho only reads correct when the engine is running.Should I turn the boat off it holds the needle at about 1200 revs.Turn the ignition back on and it zeros again.
Not stopping me doing anything its just annoying really.All I can add is the following :- Its a 1996 196 Ski dim Protec conversion fitted. Thanks as ever. FLY |

you are nuts if your worring about something that is nornmal, the rest of the gauges doing the same thing with power off doesn't bother you?

there is nothing to be concerned about, it's off it won't go to zero that is normal for any gauge.

IT would be very cold still.The water is only about 9 degrees C.Im currently not skiing due to a rotator cuff injury on my shoulder.Hopefully it will be much warmer by time I get in the water.

When I first read this quickly, I saw "Taco" as well.
Is Tacho the term in the UK? Here it would usually be abbreviated as Tach. BKH |

It's "Tacho" in Japan as well or at least that's how they translate it to English. We have several Japanese stamping presses at the plant and their electrical schematics always state one of the components being a "tacho generator". The guys in maintenance always got a kick out of it and would always reference our Hispanic maintenance man needing to work on it. This was until I took a look at the schematic and explained to them they were looking at a shaft speed encoder/resolver for the main drive RPM feedback circuit!!

I am right in the middle of completely rebuilding my boat and hope to be finished in a month. I lived in Leeds for a year and the weather was very rainy, but that's Yorkshire! We have a coal powered electric plant on my lake that heats the water in one area of the lake all year. I have been out there riding in late February and late November. A rotator-cuff injury is no joke. Keep up your physical therapy and good luck with that. |

#we also ski upto November but this is due to the resivior been so large it takes forever to warm up.The plus side is it take as long to cool down.Its at it warmest in late Sept.
As for shoulder looks like sugery im afraid could be a long season of driving for me. Added to a few boat probs ( trailer trouble and new prop reqd) its not looking like a good year. FLY ps ever any of you guys head over to the UK there is always a boat here if you want a ski! |
